My best friend then and now--Dan Hoisington. We were the only boys living in town at that time so we naturally became best friends. We lost contact for a few years but recently rekindled that friendship."

TRIP UP NORTH - LOIS (ROUNKLES) BONAR (CLASS OF 1960) & PENNY (ROUNKLES) LOKER (CLASS OF 1964)

 108105
Lois and Penny took a trip up north
to Minnesota and Canada a few weeks ago.

Penny sent this . . . .

My sister Lois and I just returned home from our trip "north" on October 21st. We were gone 12 days and had a blast !!!!! Our trip started having lunch with a cousin we found on facebook, Mary Fern Rounkles. We had lunch with her at Chillicothe, Missouri on her birthday. That night we stayed in Omaha at our Aunt Shirley Killian's house. Had a great visit and breakfast with her !!!!
Then we were ...on our way to South Dakota, & North Dakota. Stayed all night at Fargo North Dakota. They were in a tornado watch and my cell phone wouldn't work.
The 3rd day after lunch we arrived at our cousin's house, Carol Katie Helvey Otto and husband Larry, in Minnesota. We had a great time at their log house, and had some great food. Got to go to " The Shed". It has 90 cars stored in that building. Some great cars and some antique cars and pick-ups!!!!! Warroad, Minnesota is also the home of Marvin Window's Toured the welcome center at Marvin windows .
Then on to International Falls, Minnesota, into Canada. Got postcards and magnets of all the states & Canada that we visited.
In eastern Minnesota we visited the Split Rock light house !!!! We got to go clear to the top of the light house. We also saw a movie of how it was build on the rock cliff.
On to Wisconsin and Michigan, brought some great cheese, apples and pears home from Wisconsin.
Saw a lot of beautiful trees and leaves on our trip-- fall is beautiful in that part of the country !!!!!
