Annual Paradise United Methodist Church
This is one gathering in Paradise that everyone looks forward - the women preparing for the day and the people that get to enjoy the great food, fellowship and visiting with many friends. The Bazaar & Turkey Dinner started in 1950 to raise money for a new Methodist church and it is the church's only fundraiser.
Although it is like an annual reunion, they do get a lot of hunters, with a lot of them actually go out of their way to go there to eat.
Another attraction to the Bazaar this year will be the sale of the book "Simply Paradise."
The book is in four sections:
Section 1 - Ivamar to Paradise - Contains history of town, some businesses, etc along with photos;
Section 2 - Paradise Methodist church - Again contains history of church, list of past ministers, photos, etc.;
Section 3 - Mt. Hermon Cemetery - Features maps of cemetery and listing of all burials. We walked the cemetery in June, 2014 and recorded information on stones;
Section 4 - Paradise Schools - Incudes history of schools, photos and all senior placards (senior photos).
The book will sell for $20 plus an additional $5 if mailed.
Carolyn Schultz wishes to Thank everyone for their help with this project.
Mail orders will be sent out AFTER the November 8th Paradise bazaar.
You may send a check for $25.00 if you would like to order the book and would like to have it sent.
