Winifred J. “Winnie” (Morgenstern) Webster,
75, of Russell, Kansas passed away
Winifred was born July 21, 1939 in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Siegmond and Irene (Schafer) Morgenstern. She grew up in the Galatia, Kansas and Russell area.
Winifred was united in marriage to Alvin C. Webster on July 1, 1961 in Clayton, New Mexico. This union was blessed with two children; Michelle and Kim. They made their home in Russell.
Winifred was a waitress, bartender, sales clerk and manager of Casey’s General Store. She retired from Dollar General. She attended Lutheran Churches most of her life. She loved cooking, crafts, and bowling. She was a member of the Russell Women’s Bowling Association.
Surviving family include her husband of the home, two daughters, Michelle Casper(Joel) of Russell, Kansas and Kim Wieger (Duane) of Russell, Kansas; five grandchildren, Damian, Melody, Justin, Jenifer and Kristin; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Velma Courtois, Bernece Armstrong and Betty Heffel; and two nephews.
Celebration of Winifred’s Life
will be held at
10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 10, 2014
at
Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell
with
Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.
A private burial of ashes will take place at a later date. No visitation, cremation has preceded the service. A Memorial has been established with Russell County Relay for Life. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
