Myra Ann Chrisler,
68,
of Natoma, Kansas,
died
Monday, December 02, 2013,
at
Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas
Myra was born on November 13, 1945, in
Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Ruby (Zeigler) Pfortmiller. She grew
up in the Natoma area and graduated from Natoma High School in 1963.
She was
united in marriage to Delmar Chrisler on June 01, 1963, in Natoma and from this
union Myra and Delmar were blessed with 4 daughters - Michele, Kimberly, Tammy Jo
and Brenda.
Myra enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for
her growing family. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Natoma as
well as a member of the Russell Hospital Auxiliary and a foster grandparent.
Myra was a gracious and caring friend and loved by all those who knew her. She
worked as a secretary and cook for U.S.D #399 for many years where she touched
the lives of the many students and staff. She enjoyed reading, playing cards
and cooking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially
her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving family include her husband
of 50 years, Delmar Chrisler of the home, daughters Michele Meier and husband
Kenneth, Kimberly Pfanenstiel and husband Curt all of Victoria, Kansas, Tammy Jo
Chrisler of Natoma and Brenda Miller and husband Joe of Austin, Texas; brother
David Pfortmiller (Joan) of Delta, Colorado; 5 grandchildren Scott & Jasper
Chrisler, Gus, Brooke and Cooper Pfanenstiel and 2 great grandchildren Gage and
Riggens Pfanenstiel.
She was preceded in death by her
parents and an infant brother.
A celebration of Myra’s life
will be
held at
10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 06, 2013
at the
Peace Lutheran Church in
Natoma
with Pastor Michael Schmidt officiating.
Burial will follow at the
Fairport Cemetery in Fairport, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M.
Thursday, December 05, 2013, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell
with family present to greet guests from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Thursday evening.
Memorials may be given to the Peace Lutheran Church or Russell Public Library
and sent in care of the mortuary.
Myra was a sister-in-law of Dorene (Reich) Chrisler - Class of 1958. |
