Lorraine was born Dec. 1, 1922, on the family farm south of Bunker Hill, KS.
She was the daughter of John Matthew and Nora Alice (Penix) Trapp. She attended country schools.

Lorraine was united in marriage to Jacob Anschutz Jr. on Nov. 15, 1939, in Ellsworth, KS.
This union was blessed with three children: Gary (Class of 1958 - graduated from Luray), Dianna (Class of 1961 PHS) and Rebecca (Class of 1969 PHS).
Lorraine and Jacob made their home in Paradise, Russell and finally in Bunker Hill.
Jacob preceded her in death July 1, 2002.

Lorraine was a devoted homemaker and farmer's wife. She was always by Jacob's side. When she was younger she also helped run the grocery store in Luray.

Lorraine was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Russell. She helped as a 4-H Leader when her children were growing up. Then after she and Jacob retired, they loved attending Antique sales and collecting antiques.
Survivors include a son, Gary Anschutz, Galatia, KS; two daughters, Dianna R. Wise, Seattle, Washington and Rebecca Keil (David), Russell, KS; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Wilmer Trapp and three sisters: Ida Mahoney, Clara Kaps and Julia Urban.
Celebration of Lorraine's Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 8, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or Russell County Relay For Life in care of the mortuary.
Gary Anschutz taught at PHS in the late 60's and early 70's. He was also the Sponsor of the Senior Class of 1971.
